Sober Living Environments (SLE) offer stable, clean and sober housing to adults with a substance use disorder. Individuals in early recovery face a variety of issues as they begin to create a clean and sober life. The sober living environments provide a clean, safe environment, free from alcohol and drugs, where residents can focus on the transition from a structured treatment center environment to a more independent and self-motivated, recovery-based lifestyle engaged with the outside community.
Unlike treatment centers, the sober living environments do not provide treatment or professional services. Instead, they provide a primarily peer-lead structure to assist individuals in regaining independence.
Management of the houses is provided by a live-in house manager. The house manager assures that residents are adhering to the rules of the program and that the environments remain safe and free from drugs and alcohol.
